Eloping in Toronto? An elopement package can include a ceremony and officiant, a location, paperwork help, flowers and photography, but honestly, providers differ widely. Ask each one what is included, what is not, and who covers the photography. The photography part is easiest to plan with a simple timeline, and we share one below.

What can an elopement package include?

There is no standard recipe. A provider may offer a package that covers some of the following, and another may cover a different mix. Treat this list as a menu of things to ask about, not a promise that any one provider includes them all.

  • Ceremony and officiant. Who leads the ceremony, and whether the words are fixed or yours.
  • A location or venue. Indoors, outdoors or a mix, and whether it is private or shared.
  • Paperwork support. Some providers help you understand the steps. Ask what that means in practice.
  • Flowers. A bouquet, a buttonhole or neither.
  • Photography. Sometimes part of the package, sometimes booked separately.
  • Extras. A meal, a toast, music, a short walk to a second spot.

Packages are a way of saving you the work of booking each piece. They are not always the better way. If you already know the location you love, booking each piece yourself may suit you better.

Are there any all-inclusive elopement packages available in Ontario?

Some providers bundle several services into one offer, and some call it all-inclusive. The word can mean different things, so ask for the list.

Photography is the part that varies most. In some bundles it is included, in others it is a separate booking, and in some the photographer is chosen for you. Ask whether you can see the photographer's full galleries before you agree, and whether you can choose your own.

Do not rely on the label. Ask each provider to write down what is included and what is not, then check that nothing on your own list is missing.

How much does it cost to get eloped in Ontario?

It depends on what you put into the day, so there is no single honest number. What usually changes the cost:

  • the location or venue, and whether it is private
  • the officiant
  • the number of guests
  • flowers and other styling
  • photography, and how much of the day it covers
  • extras such as a meal or transport

For official steps and fees, read the official Ontario guidance on getting married. We do not give legal advice and we do not state requirements here, because they change and the official site is the right place to confirm them.

When you ask any provider about cost, ask for a written list of what the number covers. Our own pricing is shared on request. <!-- F012 -->

How much does an elopement photographer cost?

There is no honest single figure, so here is what usually moves it:

  • how much of the day is covered, from the ceremony and portraits to a full day
  • the number of locations and the moves between them
  • the level of editing
  • how many finished images you receive and how they are delivered
  • how the images may be used
  • the date and season
  • the weather plan

Ask for the answers in writing so quotes can be compared on equal terms. The same logic, with more rows, is in our guide to what drives wedding photography cost. Pricing for our own photography is shared on request. <!-- F012 -->

What should the photography part of an elopement cover?

We photograph weddings and elopements, combining real moments with editorial-inspired portraits. <!-- F030 --> Our part is the photography. <!-- F030 --> You can see how we describe the service on our wedding and elopement photography page.

Whoever you choose, start with a short list. Share a list of key moments and the day's timeline with your photographer. <!-- F088 --> A simple template looks like this, with no fixed durations. Each step comes with one decision to make:

  1. Getting ready. Decide who, if anyone, sees the rings and outfits before the ceremony, and which small details you want kept: a note, flowers, a keepsake.
  2. The ceremony. Decide whether you want private vows, and whether the first reaction should be photographed up close or from a distance.
  3. Portraits. Choose where the portraits happen and how far you are willing to walk between spots. Ask for a few composed, editorial-style frames and some relaxed ones.
  4. A quiet moment together. Ask the photographer to stay close but out of frame, so you have time without a camera pointing at you.
  5. The weather plan. Toronto weather changes across the seasons, so agree on an indoor corner, a covered spot or a flexible date before the day.

Before the day, the colour and fabric logic in our guide on what to wear to a photoshoot applies to your outfits, and a session like the ones in engagement photoshoot ideas is a relaxed way to rehearse in front of a camera.

If you would like to talk through the photography, message us on Instagram with your date range and the parts of the day you want photographed.

Elopement or micro wedding: what changes for the photography?

The difference is mostly about people and pace. An elopement is usually just the two of you, sometimes with a few people close to you. A micro wedding adds a small guest list, and with it family groupings, a short reception and more moments to follow.

For the photography, we suggest deciding three things first:

  • who must be in the photos, and which groupings you want
  • how many places the day moves through
  • how long you want the photographer with you, in general terms

This is planning advice, not legal advice. For the legal side of either, use the official Ontario guidance linked above.

How do you compare elopement packages fairly?

Put every offer next to the same set of rows. A simple sheet is enough, with one column per provider:

RowWhat to write down
Ceremony and officiantWho, and what is included
Location or venueWhere, how private, any rules
Paperwork supportWhat the provider does
FlowersWhat is included
PhotographyIncluded or separate, and who the photographer is
ExtrasMeal, music, transport
Not includedAnything you must arrange yourself
Contact on the dayThe person you call if something changes

Then compare the photography rows on their own. Look at full galleries, not just highlights, and read how the photographer explains the process. Style fit usually matters more than any single line in a quote.

Checklist: photography questions for any elopement provider

  • Who is the photographer, and can I see full galleries?
  • Is photography part of the package or a separate booking?
  • How do the images arrive, and how may I use them?
  • Who owns the images, and can I share them freely?
  • What happens to the photography if the weather changes or the date moves?
  • Are there rules at the location about photography or guests?
  • Is there a deposit, and what are the terms if I cancel? (Get the answer in writing.)
  • Who do I contact on the day if something changes?
